Mrs. Brown

Mrs. Brown was born in Syracuse, New York. She has two sisters, Susan and Patty. Susan is five years older, and Patty is 1 1⁄2 years younger. Her dad was from Texas and had a PhD in physics. He worked for General-Electric as a consulting engineer. Her mom was from Virginia and trained as a teacher. She was a stay-at-home mom until Ms. Brown went to college, and then she got her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse for nine years.

Ms. Brown attended Moses-Dewitt Elementary and Jamesville-Dewitt High school. She loved music. She sang in the church choir and the school chorus, and had several years of piano lessons. Also, she performed in many musicals such as “Guys and Dolls.” She loved skiing, sailing, skating, swimming, and reading.

She attended Cornell University, but later transferred to William Smith College in Geneva, New York. She majored in Music History and studied piano. She loved music but wasn’t sure about a career path. In college she enjoyed meeting new people from other states and hearing about their experiences.

Mrs. Brown is married. Her husband, Bill, works at the Botanic Garden. She loves going there! Mr. and Mrs. Brown have two grown daughters: Claire is 22, and Laura is 26.

She still loves reading, outdoor activities, cooking for her family, and traveling.

Her favorite books are Harry Potter, 1776, and The Secret Life of Bees. Her favorite movies are Forrest Gump and Peter Pan. Her favorite foods are seafood, Mexican, and French. Her favorite trip was a week in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
