Mr. Utech grew up in Evanston. When he was a kid, his favorite books were
The Lord of the Rings, The Phantom Tollbooth, and
The Day of the Ness,
which he doubts is in print anymore and is about aliens.
His favorite school year was 5th grade. His favorite teacher was a Social
Studies teacher because she made her subject fun. He played cello in after-school
orchestra.
His favorite subject is science. When he was a kid, he thought he would be
a scientist.
He has one cat for a pet. His role models are Martin Luther King Jr. and
Ghandi. If he wasn’t an art teacher, he would want to be a science teacher, a
math teacher, or a writing teacher. If he wasn’t a teacher at all,
he would be an astronaut, a firefighter, or a scuba diver. He used to be
an art
teacher at Westbrook. His favorite animals are whales and moose.
The students at Hoffman School are more than happy that Mr. Utech is teaching
here. He is a very funny man and makes every single student look forward
to his classes.
