Mr. Larenas is a great person. He was born on December 6th in Chicago and then his family moved to Skokie. He has two older brothers and when he was a kid, he had some pet parakeets. Mr. Larenas went to Fairview North for K-4th grade then Fairview South for 5th-8th grade. When he was a kid, he played soccer and basketball and wanted to be a shortstop for the Chicago Cubs. His teaching career was inspired by Mr. Haley and Mrs. Hammer, two of his teachers.
Mr. Larenas went to Niles West for High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He went to the University of Illinois for college and also got his Master’s Degree there. Before coming to Hoffman, Mr. Larenas worked as a substitute teacher in the district, and before that, he taught 4th grade for two years at Fairview North.
Mr. Larenas is not married and has no kids. His favorite book is Where the Wild Things Are and he roots for the Cubs, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the L.A Lakers. Mr. Larenas loves pizza, working out, playing sports, and watching T.V. He is extremely excited to teach and likes to travel to Europe, Los Angeles, and Ecuador.
We are very excited to have Mr. Larenas at Hoffman School. Be sure to say hello to him when you see him in the hall!
