TECHNIQUES FOR RESOLVING CONFLICTS

SHARE: Your relationship with the person is more important than “things.”

COMPROMISE: Each person gives something up and also gains something.
TAKE TURNS: Everyone gets a chance to win.

USE CHANCE: Let “luck” decide for you. Flip a coin or do Rock- Paper- Scissors.
TALK IT OUT: Communicate your feelings calmly and listen to the other person.

TAKE A BREAK: Walk away from the situation. Once you have cooled off, you can think more clearly and make better choices.

LAUGH IT OFF: A good laugh can break the tension.

SAY SORRY: Apologize and take responsibility for your actions.

ASK FOR HELP: Ask someone who is not involved in the conflict to make a suggestion or help you talk it through.

AVOID: Avoid situations that often result in a conflict.
