Mrs. Dorken

Mrs. Dorken was born on August 7, in Park Ridge, Illinois. She grew up with her sister and three brothers. She and her siblings had a dog, a cat, gerbils, and a bird.
After her family moved to Glenview, Mrs. Dorken attended Hoffman, Springman, and Glenbrook South High School. A happy memory for Mrs. Dorken was when she was in high school and she got to see The Jackson Five in concert at Golf Mill! In high school, she played volleyball and was a cheerleader. She also played softball in middle school and in high school.
Mrs. Dorken attended the University of Iowa. She got her degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Dorken remembers that while in college she got to see R.E.M in concert! She attended National Louis University for graduate school.
Before working as Hoffman’s Reading Specialist, Mrs. Dorken taught 5th grade. Her favorite subject to teach is Reading.
Mrs. Dorken and her husband have two young sons, two cats, and ten fish. Her favorite book is Harriet the Spy. Her favorite movie is The Wizard of Oz. She also likes to read and ride her bike and she loves to eat salmon and asparagus.
All of us are glad to have Mrs. Dorken at Hoffman School!
